While the Booker's away the iPod will play…
Today Kimberly Wilson, author and creative director of tranquil space yoga & tranquiliT boutique here in the city, stops by to program our ipod.
We are absolutely going to check out her song selections—and her book!— in hopes of finding some much needed hip tranquil-ness in our own life. Namaste.
Hip Tranquil Chick Kimberly Wilson's iPod playlist
Staying inspired on and off the yoga mat is critical to a hip tranquil chick. Always in search of a beat to match my mood, I find that my preferences run the gamut (hence hip hop to frenchy jazz) so I have to keep varied mood matchers at my finger tips. These six songs are sure to put a skip in my step while I indulge in a yoga practice, knit, journal write, sip tea, or dance.
Lose Yourself by Eminem. Despite the artist's misogynistic tone, this song is sure to evoke
inspiration in the modern girl searching for her vision.
Baba Hanuman by Krishna Das. This song brings a sense of reverence to city driving, asana practice, and simply being. Nothing beats the sound of Krisha Das' yummy voice.
Dance Me to the End of Love by Madeleine Peyroux. For the girl craving romance with a fancy french vibe, this song is sure to put you in the mood. Picture yourself sipping chai in a Parisian cafe.
Not Ready to Make Nice by Dixie Chicks. Ahh, this song breeds empowerment and no regrets. Listen to this song and feel the chills bubble up on your arms.
Lebanese Blond by Thievery Corporation. This tune is sure to make your hips move and is a hit on the yoga mat.
He Got Game by Public Enemy. Who would have thought that hip hop could provide such profound insights — this song makes you think.
are these serious? "Who would have thought that hip hop could provide such profound insights"
wtf?
[sometimes i can't get irony in text, but it doesn't seem to me that any was intended]

Ya know Tito, just because someone finds insight in a place you wouldn't doesn't mean you have to be rude.
Kimberly, Thanks for sharing, I always love seeing the variety of music styles most people have on their playlists!
