It was a packed house Saturday night to hear Scott Berg read from Grand Avenues at Politics and Prose. Introduced by store co-owner, the inestimable Barbara Meade, Berg spoke about the rise and fall of the brilliant but troubled Pierre L'Enfant.
As readers of this blog know, Scott is a member of our writing group and we're all thrilled about this book's release. As a group, we threw a release party last week which included a surprise visit from L'Enfant from beyond the grave (see next page for photos). The party was a blast, with over 75 guests including friends, Mason faculty, editors and some of our favorite local writers— C.M Mayo, Mary Kay Zuravleff, Leslie Pietrzyk, Steve Goodwin, Jamy Bond—at our home.
