Mutual Life & Casualty author, Elizabeth Poliner, stops by the LBC to talk about her book and the inner workings of the novel-in-stories concept. Click over and hear what Poliner has to say as we enter the last week of our Autumn Read This! picks.
- Tayari Jones is running the show over at Old Hag this week. She's been a wonderful guest blogger, with literary insight, links, and even a recipe! Don't miss it.
- It seems everywhere we turn these days we're hearing about Marcy Dermansky , whose debut novel TWINS is the book of the moment. She was a recent contributor to " Book Notes," the way cool guest column on Largehearted Boy. Marcy also read recently at Amanda Stern's Happy Ending Reading Series in New York (more on this later…). I am a sucker for buzz, so this book is now at the tippy top of my staggeringly high TBR pile. Stay tuned! I have a feeling we may be hearing more from Marcy in the coming weeks.
Twins is one of our entries in this year's VCU First Novelist contest...I'm excited about the books we've received so far!

Thanks for linking to The Old Hag. Taking over the blog for a week has given me a whole new level of respect for bloggers. Whew!
