Thanks for the link to the wonderful Wiesel essay. It's sometimes difficult to find honest, simple, unpretentious ruminations on the writing life--this one fits the bill. I'll be teaching The Accident to my undergraduates in the fall, and Wiesel's essay will make a nice sidepiece to his book.


Wow. "[A]ffable glam" is such a terrific phrase for Washington DC. I'm not familiar with Zuravleff's writing, but will definitely seek her work out; thanks for posting the essay.
