Psst...
Confidential to all our DC-based author friends out there, here's one event you do not want to miss:
Indie publicist Lauren Cerand hits town for one night only to discuss book "Promotion and Publicity." The fabulous Ms. Cerand will be appearing this evening at 6:30pm, courtesy of the Women's National Book Association (DC chapter). If you've got questions on how to best publicize your book, here's your chance to get real answers…

I am going to miss this event, alas! Because Lauren Cerand is the greatest. I worked with her a couple of a years ago, back when blogs were just beginning to explode, on the promotion of my audio CD, "The Essential Francisco Sosa or, Picadou's Mexico City." Lauren made a bang-up press release and got it a bunch of blog mentions, and the experience turned out to be my introduction to the blogosphere. Anyone reading this in DC who's interested in book PR and the digital revolution, this is an event you won't want to miss.

You are so right, Catherine. In short, Lauren rocks.

At first glance, I thought you had written "Lauren Conrad."
Boy, do I suck.
